After the Trump administration’s statement, the EU urges the U.S. not to cut off oil supplies to Europe
The European Commission has urged the United States not to restrict oil supplies to Europe, European Commissioner for Energy and Housing Dan Jørgensen told reporters. “I have sent a very clear signal to my American counterpart and also to the public that it is in no one’s interest — neither the U.S.’s nor ours — not to have as free a flow of energy as possible in these difficult times,” he said when asked about a possible U.S. ban on oil exports.
U.S. President Donald Trump had previously said he was seriously considering a ban on diesel fuel exports due to rising prices at home.
