The Basic Court in Pristina has found Arbër Havolli guilty and sentenced him to a single term of 20 years in prison for the murder committed on 6 September 2025 in Upper Llapashtica, Podujeva, as Telegrafi reports.
According to “Betimi për Drejtësi” (Oath for Justice), the verdict was announced by the presiding judge Alban Ajvazi and panel members Adnan Kamberi and Gëzim Ademi. For the criminal offence of “Murder”, Havolli was sentenced to 19 years in prison, and for illegal possession of a weapon to 2 years — the two sentences were merged into a single term of 20 years. Time spent in pre-trial detention will be credited toward the sentence.
According to the indictment of the Basic Prosecution in Pristina, filed on 23 April 2026, on 6 September 2025, at around 19:30, on “Hysen Havolli” street in the village of Upper Llapashtica, while the victim B.S. was in his car by the side of the road, opposite the “Havolli” market, the defendant approached him, spoke with him and then fired nine times at him with a firearm, taking his life.
As Klan Kosova reports, police had declared Havolli wanted on 9 September 2025, as he was on the run, and he was arrested on 23 October of the same year. During the arrest, police confiscated a firearm and a knife from him.
The defendant is also obliged to pay the costs of the criminal proceedings — 150 euros for the court lump sum and 50 euros for the Crime Victims Compensation Fund. The parties have the right to appeal within 30 days of receiving the verdict; only the defendant’s lawyer, Bekim Sfishta, was present at the announcement.
