Behrami hits back at Kurti: Why don’t you show the same zeal for defending the KLA as for the Citizenship Law?

PDK MP Artan Behrami has reacted to Prime Minister Albin Kurti over the processing of the draft law amending the Law on the Specialist Chambers of Kosovo, as Klan Kosova reports.

Behrami said the Justice Ministry’s legal opinion on the matter is not binding on MPs and that, in his view, the procedure could have been completed much faster.

“First of all, the Justice Ministry’s legal opinion is totally irrelevant, nor is it obligatory for us MPs. It is a pointless routine and could have been done within two minutes, with a few opinions, and brought to the Assembly,” Behrami stated on the “Kosova Today” program.

He then asked the prime minister why, in his view, he does not show the same commitment to issues related to the Kosovo Liberation Army as to the Citizenship Law.

“But why doesn’t the prime minister have the same zeal? The same motive? With what speed he brought the law on Serbian citizenship, which will change our demographics in Kosovo — do you know that he brought it at the speed of light to committees, in first reading and second reading,” he said.

Behrami demanded that the same pace be used for issues related to defending the KLA and Kosovo.

“Why doesn’t he have this zeal to defend the KLA? To defend Kosovo? This is also my personal opinion,” Behrami said.
