Enver Hoxhaj walks out of the Education Committee meeting, demands amendment of the Specialist Chambers law
The chairman of the Committee for Education and Science, PDK MP Enver Hoxhaj, walked out of today’s meeting of that committee, following the decision of the PDK Parliamentary Group not to take part in committees until the Government proceeds in the Assembly with the proposal to amend the Law on the Specialist Chambers, EO reports, transmitted by Klan Kosova.
Before leaving, Hoxhaj invited political entities to amend the law on the Specialist Court, while leaving the other members to continue the meeting. “I will not propose anything regarding the committee’s scope. I wanted to be fair with you and concrete, except that it concerns the conditioning of the committee. I am leaving this meeting. I invite colleagues and all political entities to amend the law for the Specialist Court. Whatever suggestions the other colleagues have regarding the scope of this committee, I believe you can continue them”, he said.
After Hoxhaj’s departure, the committee’s deputy chair, Arjeta Fejza, took over the chairing of the meeting and said the committee is not in normal circumstances to function. “As for the law, there is now a discussion being held by political entities, there is also a position of the ministry and of the prime minister in this process… I hope all the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo are consolidated as soon as possible”, she said. Despite Hoxhaj’s departure, the committee members present voted unanimously for its constitution and scope of activity.
