Evelina Ajazaj-Leka elected president of the Kosovo Hunters’ Federation
Evelina Ajazaj-Leka has been elected president of the Kosovo Hunters’ Federation, winning an absolute majority of the votes of the members of the Federation’s Assembly, as Telegrafi reports.
Her election has been hailed as an important development for the organization, particularly because, according to a reaction published after the vote, Ajazaj-Leka is the first woman to lead the Kosovo Hunters’ Federation.
The secretary general of the Albanian-German Union e.V., Nuradin Imeraj, welcomed her election, describing Ajazaj-Leka as a professional with training and experience in the protection of wildlife and natural habitats. “There are people who talk about the future, but there are also people who, with their knowledge, courage, professionalism and dedication, become part of building it,” Imeraj wrote.
He stressed that Ajazaj-Leka comes to the post with professional preparation and experience, and praised her engagement in cultural and social life. According to Imeraj, her new responsibility is also linked to protecting nature, wildlife and habitats in Kosovo. “They are not the property of one generation; they are a wealth we owe to the generations to come. That is why we must protect and preserve them as the apple of our eye,” he wrote.
Imeraj said he had also worked with Ajazaj-Leka on organizing cultural activities, through which he had come to know her professionalism and dedication at close hand. “That is why today, as her friend, I am proud of Evelina’s achievement,” he wrote, wishing her success in her new task and expressing confidence that she will fulfil the responsibility given to her by the members of the Kosovo Hunters’ Federation.
