Finnish police investigate suspected intrusions into MPs’ homes
Finnish police said on Thursday they have launched a preliminary investigation into a series of suspected intrusions into the homes of members of parliament.
Helsinki police said in a statement they were cooperating closely with the National Bureau of Investigation and that the investigation was at an early stage.
The Speaker of Finland’s Parliament, Jussi Halla-aho, said reports of the suspected intrusions were made in his office last week, but it was not immediately clear how long the incidents had been going on.
Nothing was stolen or broken, but signs of intrusion were left in the homes, Halla-aho said at a press conference.
“I cannot comment exactly on the number of suspected cases we know of, but in any case the number is considerable,” he said.
