Fires Erupt in Southern Lebanon After Israeli Shelling of Beit Yahoun
Fires broke out on Wednesday in the wooded areas of the town of Beit Yahoun in the Bint Jbeil district of southern Lebanon, after Israeli artillery shelled the area earlier in the day, Lebanon’s National News Agency (NNA) reported.
According to NNA, the fires also damaged several residential homes in the town. The shelling comes at a time when fighting on the Lebanese front has escalated in parallel with the ongoing war between the U.S. and Iran, in which Israel is an active party to the regional conflict.

The new incident adds to the string of recent Israeli strikes in southern Lebanon. In recent days, Israeli forces hit three areas of southern Lebanon, and Israeli artillery struck the villages of al-Mansouri, Beit Yahoun and Aita al-Jabal, according to the official Lebanese news agency.
The Lebanese front remains one of the hottest flashpoints of regional escalation since the start of the U.S.–Iran war in February, with frequent exchanges of fire between the Israeli army and armed groups in the south of the country.
