Former KLA fighter Abdyli: Thaçi, Veseli, Selimi and Krasniqi are not just names — they are the symbol of our freedom
Former Kosovo Liberation Army fighter Arientin Abdyli addressed protesters in Pristina at the rally organized by the KLA War Veterans’ Organization (OVL-UÇK) following the verdict against former KLA leaders in The Hague.
Abdyli said the protest is not only about opposing the verdict against Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi and Rexhep Selimi, but also, as he put it, about defending the truth about the KLA’s war.
“We need no masks, brothers and sisters — we fought our war without masks and without shame, and justly,” Abdyli said, Telegrafi reports.
He said the protesters had gathered to oppose what he considers an injustice against the former KLA leaders.
“Today we have gathered here not only to raise our voice against the injustice toward our former leaders, but we have also lined up to defend a truth that cannot be broken by any verdict,” he said.
Referring to the former KLA leaders, Abdyli described them as symbols of Kosovo’s freedom.
“Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Jakup Krasniqi, Rexhep Selimi are not just names — they are the symbol of our freedom, the symbols of a people that refused to submit and remain in bondage,” Abdyli said. /Telegrafi/
