Ganimete Musliu walks out of the Administration Committee meeting
PDK MP Ganimete Musliu walked out of today’s meeting of the Committee for Public Administration, Digitalization, Local Government, Media and Regional Development, objecting to the agenda set for discussion.
Musliu said that the Assembly of Kosovo cannot continue routine work at a time when citizens are demanding that the issue of the Kosovo Specialist Chambers be the priority.
She demanded that the Draft Law on amending and supplementing the Law on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers be a priority of the Assembly, as KosovaPress reports.
“Therefore, I object to holding a routine meeting, because the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo are demanding something else and we are here to represent the interests of the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo,” Musliu said.
She stressed that, on this issue, there should be no political differences between MPs.
“I know that we may have political differences on many issues, but here we must not have differences, here we must be together. It does not matter whether we are different political parties, it does not matter whether we are different nationalities, I consider that for the Republic of Kosovo there is no issue more priority than the issue of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague,” she declared.
Musliu said she does not vote for the agenda and will not take part in the committee meeting.
The chairman of the Committee for Public Administration, Digitalization, Local Government, Media and Regional Development, Albert Kinolli, said he hopes that the amendment of the Draft Law on the Kosovo Specialist Chambers will soon be processed in the Assembly.
Kinolli said that, according to the information they have received from the prime minister, the amendment is expected to come to the Assembly soon.
“According to the information we have from the prime minister, we wish and hope that very soon the amendment of the law, of the draft law on the Specialist Court, will come to the Assembly, and we wish the best for the KLA fighters, who are unjustly being tried in The Hague. I wish that those liberators return as soon as possible to our state, to their land, where they gave their contribution for this freedom and independence, and also join their families as soon as possible,” he said.
Vetëvendosje MP Arbëreshë Kryeziu-Hyseni said that the issue of the Specialist Chambers should not hinder the work of this committee, since the handling of this law is within the competence of the Committee for Legislation.
“I think that this is not an issue that should hinder the functioning of the committees, let alone the functioning of this parliamentary committee, which has nothing to do with the handling of this law, because it is the Committee for Legislation that will deal exclusively with the relevant law. Therefore I do not think we should be hindered by protests or such demands of the MPs of the Democratic Party of Kosovo, because we are clear about the scope of this committee, therefore we must move forward and I very much hope that we will continue to move forward, because it is a broad scope, there is a considerable number of institutions which are precisely supervised by this committee. Therefore we must never allow the work of the committee to be hindered with such demands, which are handled by a completely different committee, different from ours,” Hyseni said.
