Russia has lost around 1,535,870 troops in Ukraine since the start of the full-scale invasion on February 24, 2022, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on October 1, as the Kyiv Independent reports. The number includes 1,900 casualties Russian forces suffered in just the last 24 hours.
According to the report, Russia has also lost 12,388 tanks, 25,464 armoured combat vehicles, 155,887 vehicles and fuel tankers, 50,555 artillery systems, 2,174 multiple-launch rocket systems, 1,683 air defence systems, 443 aircraft, 356 helicopters, 2,803 unmanned ground systems, 35 ships and boats, and two submarines.
Ukraine’s General Staff has not disclosed its own losses during the full-scale invasion, citing operational secrecy, the Kyiv Independent writes. Western media and independent institutes estimate that Russian casualties significantly exceed Ukrainian ones.
The daily toll is published every morning by Kyiv and reflects Ukrainian estimates of Russian personnel killed, wounded or captured, as well as equipment destroyed on the front line.
