Gharibabadi: U.S. response to the “seven-day plan” is under internal review — Iran remains ready for other scenarios

Iran confirmed on Sunday that the United States has responded to Tehran’s “seven-day plan” to end the war, and that the response is now being reviewed internally. Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi said the plan aims to end the fighting with the U.S., reopen the Strait of Hormuz and resume talks on a final peace agreement, on terms that closely match the June Memorandum of Understanding, which collapsed during the renewed fighting in July, as Al Jazeera reports.
These views are “currently under internal review,” said Deputy Foreign Minister Kazem Gharibabadi, according to Al Jazeera. Iran will announce its final position “through the appropriate channels” once it is ready, he added. Gharibabadi also warned that Iran “retains readiness for other scenarios” if peace efforts fail.
The development came on a day of high diplomatic tension: also on Sunday, Minister Araghchi declared before foreign ambassadors in Tehran that there is no “military solution” to the conflict with the U.S. and that only fair talks can end the war — a statement that 24-ore.com has covered today in a separate article.
Meanwhile, Hormuz remains the main focus of the talks to end the seven-month U.S.–Israel–Iran war, while Tehran has not yet discussed the return of U.N. nuclear inspectors, Al Jazeera reports.
