Gjini: Kosovo has failed to tell the truth in the face of Serbian propaganda

The leader of the Alliance for the Future of Kosovo (AAK), Ardian Gjini, has spoken about the accusations against the Kosovo Liberation Army (KLA) and the judicial processes in The Hague, saying Kosovo has failed to properly present its narrative in the face of Serbian propaganda.

On the “Rubikon” show on Klan Kosova, Gjini stated that the international intervention in Kosovo was not the result of deceiving allies, mentioning in particular the United States of America.

“We did not lie, Kosovo did not mislead the world. The U.S. was not misled when it intervened to save Kosovo,” Gjini said.

He also spoke about the claims related to the so-called “Yellow House,” saying that, in his view, these accusations were manufactured in Serbia.

Gjini criticized the way Kosovo has confronted these claims, arguing the country has not done enough to present its own arguments.

“When public opinion is shocked by certain topics, they must be confronted quickly. We have failed to show that the real likelihood is that Serbia itself engaged in organ trafficking, and did the same thing to accuse us,” he said.

Speaking about the 1998–1999 war, Gjini also mentioned the cases of transporting the bodies of Albanians killed in Kosovo toward Serbia and the “Panda” café case in Peja, which he claimed was staged by the Serbian state.

The AAK leader also criticized individuals in Kosovo who, in his view, contributed through their writings to creating a negative narrative about the KLA.

“Don’t forget that there were very irresponsible people in Kosovo who themselves wrote articles claiming the KLA was financed by drugs; they kept throwing a bit of mud all the time,” Gjini stated.

He said these stances, in his view, had serious consequences, referring also to the convictions of former KLA leaders in the judicial processes in The Hague.

“We must work not only to have them declared innocent but also to start telling our story as it should be told,” Gjini concluded, as Telegrafi reports.
