Government approves expropriations for road and infrastructure projects in several municipalities

The Government of Kosovo has approved a series of decisions on the expropriation of immovable property for public interest, affected by various infrastructure projects in several municipalities of the country.

Among the approved decisions are expropriations for the widening of national roads, the rehabilitation and repair of roads, the construction of industrial parks, and projects of the municipalities in Podujeva.

One of the final decisions approved by the Government concerns the additional expropriation of properties in the cadastral zones of Ferizaj and Talinoc i Jerlive, affected by the project to widen National Road N2, the “Entrance to the City of Ferizaj” segment.

A final expropriation decision was also approved for the properties affected by the project to widen National Road M25, Pristina–Podujeva.

The expropriation in this case includes properties in the cadastral zones of Bërnicë e Epërme, Bardhosh, Trudë, Lebanë, Prugoc, Besi, Vranidoll and Teneqsholl in the Municipality of Pristina, as well as Lupç i Poshtëm, Shakovicë, Lluzhan and Llugë in the Municipality of Podujeva.

Meanwhile, the Government has approved preliminary decisions on expropriations linked to several infrastructure projects.

One of them concerns the rehabilitation of regional road R112, on the Gjonaj–Bishtazhin segment, where properties in the cadastral zone of Gjinaj, in the Municipality of Prizren, are affected.

A preliminary decision was also taken on the expropriation of properties affected by the project to repair the landslide on the Hani i Elezit–Gorancë road, in the cadastral zone of Rezhancë, in the Municipality of Hani i Elezit, Telegrafi reports.

In Gjakova, the preliminary expropriation decision concerns the construction of the Industrial Park, and includes former socially owned properties “Virgjinia” and “Metaliku”, managed and administered by the Privatisation Agency of Kosovo, as well as private properties.

Decisions for further review of expropriation requests were also approved for several former socially owned properties under the management and administration of the Agency, needed for the implementation of projects in the Municipality of Podujeva.

Those projects also include the Construction of the Livestock Market and the Construction of the Green Market in Podujeva.

The Government also approved the decision for further review of the request to expropriate properties affected by the “Pristina–Gjilan–Dheu i Bardhë” Motorway project, the Banullë–Bresalc segment. The properties included are in the cadastral zone of Banullë, in the Municipality of Lipjan.

Another expropriation request to be reviewed further concerns the building recorded as “Residential House 1935”, which is under the management and administration of the Agency and owned by the Municipality of Podujeva.

According to the decision, the expropriation of this building is necessary for the project to build the City Museum of Podujeva.

The expropriation decisions constitute one of the administrative steps to secure the properties needed for the implementation of public projects, while in the cases of preliminary decisions and further review, the process continues in the legally prescribed stages. /Telegrafi/
