Haxhiu calls on MPs: The presidential election process must also be completed successfully

Acting President of Kosovo Albulena Haxhiu has congratulated Prime Minister Albin Kurti and the new government cabinet, following the vote on the new government in the Kosovo Assembly.

In a post, Haxhiu said Kosovo’s institutions face a great deal of shared work ahead, including reforms, economic development, strengthening the rule of law and advancing Kosovo’s international position.

“I congratulate the prime minister and the entire new cabinet, wishing them good work and success in the responsibilities they have taken on,” Haxhiu wrote.

She stressed that the Assembly will do its part through the legislative agenda and parliamentary oversight of the executive’s work.

“With today’s votes, the Republic of Kosovo now has the Assembly and the Government. One important step remains for completing the institutions, which is the election of the President of the Republic,” Haxhiu stated.

She called on MPs to exercise their constitutional responsibility and for the presidential election process to be concluded successfully.

“Kosovo needs strong, functional and stable institutions, not new waits and delays,” Haxhiu concluded. /Telegrafi/
