Hoxha meets head of Bundestag EU affairs committee: Germany supports Albania’s European journey

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha received in Tirana this morning the chairman of the German Bundestag’s European Union Affairs Committee, Anton Hofreiter.

In a post on the social network X, Hoxha said the meeting focused on Albania’s progress in the European integration process and the reform agenda the country is implementing on its path toward EU membership.

“Germany has been one of Albania’s strongest and most consistent supporters throughout this journey. We greatly appreciate Germany’s support for a merit-based enlargement process and its leadership in promoting a credible European perspective for the Western Balkans,” Minister Hoxha wrote.

According to him, the discussion also served as an opportunity to take stock of Albania’s achievements through the implementation of an ambitious reform agenda, aimed at advancing the European Union integration process.

The meeting also reaffirmed the good relations between Albania and Germany, while underlining the importance of continuing bilateral cooperation, including parliamentary exchanges.

The shared objective of the cooperation, according to Minister Hoxha, remains building a stronger and more united Europe.
