“Berisha washed his hands of the Americans back in 1997, paid millions of dollars” – Beqiri: Rama in the US because he did not do “January 21”

Lawyer Idajet Beqiri, in an interview for “Tirana Live” on ABC News, commented on the American investment in Albania and the strategic importance that, in his view, it carries for the country.

Beqiri described the US as an important ally for Albania, while he also spoke about the developments and tensions in the region. He criticised the opposition and in particular Sali Berisha, making accusations linked to past events in Albania.

Beqiri also asked the justice system to investigate Berisha for his alleged responsibility for these events.

“That investment has a name and it is an American investment, which is being made at a most neuralgic point for Albania. It is a dominant point. We drove out the Russians, but now we are convinced that we have a very reliable ally.

We are dealing with an ally that gave us the second Albanian state, Kosovo. We have Serbia, which is one of the most hostile countries towards Albania and the Albanians. We have certain circles in Greece that do not wish Albania well. On the other hand, politics has these elements that want to squeeze fat even out of a flea. The opposition is exploiting everything to attack.
