“I am well and happy”: Ben Affleck speaks after his divorce from J.Lo

Ben Affleck has spoken openly about his love life, admitting that romantic relationships are currently not at the top of his priorities.

The 54-year-old actor was asked about his private life during the New York premiere of his new film, “Animals”, where he made clear that his main attention is on his work and his three children.

“There isn’t much room. I’m not running after [relationships]. It’s just not a big priority in my life,” Affleck said.

The “Gone Girl” actor stressed that he is “well and happy” as a single man.

“I know what my priorities are. You can’t have two things that are the most important things in your life. For me, it’s the children. That’s what matters. And then it’s my work, which I love,” he said.

Affleck added that he is not actively looking for a relationship, but that he is not closed to what the future may bring.

“I’m where I am and I’m very well. Who knows what adventures life will bring. I’m open to them, but I’m not trying to chase or look for something at all costs,” the actor said.

During the interview, Affleck was also asked about the claim by “The View” host Ana Navarro that she had tried to set him up with singer Shakira after his split from Jennifer Lopez.

Navarro had said that the idea had come to her after she had been at a Shakira concert in Miami, where Matt Damon, a close friend of Affleck, was also present.

“Ben Affleck and Matt Damon are best friends,” Navarro had said, adding that after the split of Affleck and Lopez and Shakira’s split from her husband, she thought the two could be a possible couple.

But Affleck denied having heard about it before.

“I hear such things, honestly, first from people like you. I’ve never heard it in my life. People gossip. A lot of things are made up,” he said.

Ben Affleck has been married twice. He married Jennifer Garner in 2005 and the couple separated in 2015, while the divorce was finalised in 2018. They have three children together: Violet, 20, Seraphina, 17, and Samuel, 14.

In 2022, Affleck married Jennifer Lopez, to whom he had also been engaged back in 2002. The pair separated in 2024, while the divorce was finalised at the beginning of 2025.
