Initial Hearing in Absentia Against 21 War-Crimes Defendants Set for September 28

The initial hearing on the indictment filed by the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo against the defendants: Zlatomir Peshiq, Mladen Cirkoviq, Radomir Markoviq, Dushko Adamoviq, Obrad Stevanoviq, Zhivko Trajkoviq, Goran Radosavleviq, Bogoljub Janiçeviq, Sllavisha Ivanoviq, Boshko Vukiqeviq, Sreten Popoviq, Nikolla Petroviq, Kërsman Jeliq, Lubisha Stojimiroviq, Bozhidar Deliq, Radojko Stefanoviq, Dragan Zhivanoviq, Milosh Gjoshan, Lubinko Cvetiq, Bozhidar Filiq and Milovan Kovaçeviq, will be held at the Basic Court in Pristina on September 28, starting at 9:30.

They are charged with the criminal offense of war crimes against the civilian population.

The presiding judge will be Medie Bytyqi.

“Under the proposal of the Special Prosecution of the Republic of Kosovo, the trial in this case will be held in the absence of the defendants, because they were unreachable until the moment the indictment was filed.

For this reason, through this notice the above-mentioned defendants are called upon to appear and surrender before the prosecution authorities of the Republic of Kosovo.

Likewise, all persons who possess relevant information regarding the whereabouts of the accused are called upon to communicate this information to the Kosovo Police or other competent authorities,” the Basic Court in Pristina’s notice reads.
