Israeli airstrike hits Wadi al-Hujayr in southern Lebanon

Israeli warplanes have struck the Wadi al-Hujayr area in southern Lebanon, Al Jazeera reported in its live blog on the war against Iran.

Wadi al-Hujayr is a valley in Lebanon’s southern Nabatieh governorate, near the Litani River.

The strike comes amid a wave of Israeli attacks in southern Lebanon. Earlier in the day, Israeli aircraft carried out a series of airstrikes across southern Lebanon, hitting the Nabatieh, Bint Jbeil and Marjayoun districts, according to the state-run National News Agency.

A large explosion was reported in the town of Ainata in the Nabatieh area, while Israeli aircraft struck the outskirts of Bar’ashit in the Bint Jbeil district and the town of Deir Seryan in the Marjayoun district.

According to Al Jazeera’s roundup, Israel has continued its strikes in southern Lebanon with airstrikes, artillery shelling and machine-gun fire, as part of the regional escalation accompanying the U.S.–Israeli war on Iran.
