Kallas: Russia planning more sabotage, more ships needed in the Red Sea
EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas said on Monday that intelligence reports show Russia is planning more sabotage in Europe.
“We must stay vigilant, because we see in intelligence reports that Russia is planning more acts of sabotage and attacks against our democracy – to divide our society, to scare our societies out of helping Ukraine,” Kallas said ahead of a meeting of EU defense ministers in Brussels.
Kallas also said the EU needs more ships to make its “Shield” mission operational and protect vessels in the Red Sea.
Speaking after arriving at the European defense ministers’ meeting, Kallas said she is urging member states to contribute more to the mission, but has not yet received new commitments.
