Caught with over 2 kilograms of marijuana in Vërmica, prosecution files indictment

The Basic Prosecution in Prizren, Department for Serious Crimes, has filed an indictment against Albanian citizen Xh.K., who is in detention on suspicion of the criminal offence of “unauthorised purchase, possession, distribution and sale of narcotics, psychotropic substances and analogues”.

According to the indictment, on September 8, 2026, at around 19:30, at the Vërmica border crossing, the defendant allegedly imported marijuana into Kosovo without authorisation, having obtained it in the territory of Albania.

The prosecution says that during a check on the bus, the police officer smelled the narcotic substance at the back of the bus, where the defendant was seated.

During the search of his bag, the following were found and seized: 2 kilograms and 162 grams of marijuana; 2.13 grams of marijuana and an electric scale with a case.

According to the prosecution, the drugs were allegedly destined to be brought into Kosovo and then distributed and offered for sale in Ferizaj.

The case prosecutor has proposed to the court that, after the judicial review and assessment of the evidence, the defendant be found guilty and sentenced according to the law, as Telegrafi reports.
