Kurti calls for cooperation in diplomacy: Serbia and Russia will try to use the verdict against Kosovo
Prime Minister Albin Kurti has stated that Russia and Serbia will try to use the verdict against the former KLA leaders against Kosovo, as Klan Kosova reports.
For this reason, according to Klan Kosova, Kurti has called for cooperation and a joint campaign in the field of public diplomacy, so that the country is prepared for the challenges coming after this judicial process.
“Of course we must also undertake a joint campaign as far as public diplomacy is concerned, because of course there will be attempts by Serbia and Russia for the Specialist Chambers verdict to be used against the Republic of Kosovo, although it is clear that it is not as easy for them as they had thought, because first, the so-called yellow house, and the so-called organ trafficking, which was an invention of the Russian deputy in the Council of Europe, did not even make it to the indictment,” Kurti said.
The verdict of the Specialist Chambers in The Hague against the four former KLA leaders — Hashim Thaçi, Kadri Veseli, Rexhep Selimi and Jakup Krasniqi — was announced on 16 September 2026 and has caused strong reactions in Kosovo. Kurti’s statement comes precisely amid the ongoing diplomatic activities taking place around this verdict and its political consequences.
In conclusion, Kurti called for coordinated diplomatic action, so that the verdict is not misused to damage the international standing of the Republic of Kosovo.
