Kurti on the president: We have no new name, we need to hold meetings
Acting Prime Minister Albin Kurti, after the Government meeting, spoke about the issue of electing the president and the possibility of a political agreement between the parties.
Kurti said new meetings and talks with the parties are necessary, stressing that Kosovo needs no further institutional destabilisation.
He also referred to the earlier agreement reached with 99 votes, saying it would not be wise for Kosovo to descend into bitter political rivalries, which, according to him, would serve Kosovo’s opponents.
Kurti said he is optimistic that an agreement can be reached again.
“There must be meetings, talks and agreement. I have seen that it is possible; there is a path on which we can walk together,” he declared.
As for the candidate for president, Kurti made clear that LVV continues to stand by the political agreement and the candidacy of Bekim Sejdiu.
According to Kurti, Sejdiu withdrew after six LDK deputies broke the agreement.
“From LVV’s point of view, we have a political agreement and I believe we must respect it. We have no new or other name,” Kurti declared.
Kurti added that, if in future there is another candidate, the public will be informed. /Telegrafi/
