Latest NFL news — September 19: Injuries and roster changes
Teams reported Saturday a series of roster moves and injury cases ahead of the week’s games, with injury report changes and game-day elevations.
As reported by the NFL, the Cleveland Browns added cornerback Noah Igbinoghene (hand injury) to the injury report, who is considered questionable for Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers. The Browns also elevated linebacker Nathaniel Watson on game day. The Indianapolis Colts elevated wide receiver Anthony Gould on game day. At the New York Jets, wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle injury) will be placed on injured reserve and will miss at least four games, but is expected to return later; Cooper was the 30th pick in the 2026 draft. Also, tight end John FitzPatrick, who underwent surgery for an Achilles tear in December, has been cleared to resume full football activities and is currently a free agent.
Placement on injured reserve usually means a minimum absence of four games under league rules, while game-day elevations give teams flexibility to complete the roster before kickoff. All these moves can change up to game time, so staff and clubs will continue to provide updates.
The information mentioned above was also reported by the NFL, and further announcements from the clubs are expected as the week’s games approach.
