Serbia U21 coach Zoran Mirković has decided to drop Lazar Jovanović from the national team’s preparations, Sport Klub reports. The reason is a disciplinary violation, which means the striker will no longer be available to the coaching staff for the upcoming matches as part of the preparations for Euro 2027.
This is not the first incident of this kind for the young footballer. Three years ago, the then-coach of the cadets national team, Aleksandar Luković, made the same decision against him, according to Danas.
Jovanović is the son of former Serbian footballer Milan Jovanović. The striker recently left Stuttgart and signed with Italian Serie A club Udinese on a contract until the summer of 2030. He began his professional career at Vojvodina, and before moving to Germany he was a member of Crvena zvezda.
