Legal initiative on the Specialist Court, Kurti: Within the week we will have the opinion of the Justice Ministry’s legal office

Prime Minister Albin Kurti, at a press conference after the Kosovo Government meeting, spoke again about the Specialist Court verdict and the request of the Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) regarding the processing of amendments to the Law on the Specialist Court, as Telegrafi reports.

Kurti stressed that Monday’s decision of the Kosovo Assembly should first of all be welcomed, where the declaration concerning the Specialist Court was approved with 99 votes in favour.

He said they have expressed readiness for a strategy on how to proceed further toward the Appeal.

“Let us gather the energies, the leading figures of the respective field, legal expertise, so that the necessary corrections are made on Appeal and justice triumphs,” he said.

Kurti also responded regarding the PDK’s request, namely the PDK’s initiative to amend the Law on the Specialist Court.

“Now the legal office at the Prime Minister’s Office has requested an opinion from the legal office of the Ministry of Justice and from the Budget Department of the Ministry of Finance. This is the regular procedure followed with every legal initiative…

From the information I have from the respective ministries, within this week we will have the answer, both as an opinion of the Justice Ministry’s legal office and as the financial assessment of the Finance Ministry’s Budget Department, and we will immediately give the answer to the Assembly of the Republic and the procedure will continue there…,” Kurti said, among other things.
