Major police operation across Macedonia against drug trafficking: Interior Ministry promises details after it ends

A major police operation against drug trafficking is under way today, 30 September 2026, in several cities of North Macedonia, as the Ministry of Internal Affairs announced.

Officers of the Department for Organised and Serious Crime are engaged in the operation, while the activities are being carried out under the leadership of a public prosecutor from the Basic Public Prosecution Office for the Prosecution of Organised Crime and Corruption.

As the Interior Ministry announces, the operation targets criminal offences of unauthorised production and distribution of narcotic drugs, psychotropic substances and precursors.

The operation was still under way at the time of the announcement, so the authorities gave no details about the number of arrests, the checks carried out or the quantity of drugs seized.

The Ministry announced that after the operation is fully completed, more information about its results will be published.
