Maurizio Lambardi Receives “Honour of the Academy” for Contribution to Albania–Italy Scientific Cooperation

The Academy of Sciences awarded Prof. Maurizio Lambardi the “Honour of the Academy” distinction, in appreciation of his contribution to scientific cooperation between Albania and Italy.

Lambardi was particularly praised for his work in plant biotechnology, in vitro cultures, cryoconservation and the preservation of genetic resources, as well as for supporting joint projects, scientific publications and the training of young Albanian researchers.

Prof. Maurizio Lambardi described the award as a great honor, emphasizing that it reflects a long-standing scientific and human cooperation between the two countries. The ceremony also highlighted the importance of protecting native plants and preserving plant resources.

The Academy of Sciences described the ceremony as an important moment for strengthening and internationalizing Albania–Italy scientific cooperation.
