Meeting with Albanians in Michigan — Hoxha: Albania to soon open Consulate General in Detroit, bringing the state closer to citizens

Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs Ferit Hoxha took part in the meeting and conversation of Prime Minister Edi Rama with the Albanian community in Michigan, United States of America.

Through a post on X, the Minister describes the meeting as an open and direct conversation about Albania, Albanians and everything that unites us.

Hoxha notes that soon, Albania will open the Consulate General in Detroit, to bring the state closer to citizens, with better consular services, more interaction and support, as well as stronger economic and trade ties with local and state actors and authorities, in function of our national interests.

“We are committed and will do everything for our public service to be, wherever there is need, close to Albanians, as functional and as efficient as possible,” writes Hoxha.

“Detroit, Michigan – An excellent reception and a warm meeting of Prime Minister Rama with Albanians in Michigan, where one of the great hearts of Albanianness beats strongly, in one of the largest Albanian-American communities, well integrated and rooted in American life, but always strongly tied to the Homeland.

Because wherever Albanians are, there is Albania. Because distance does not dim the bond with the Homeland: Albanians, wherever they live, are part of the same history, the same language, the same heart.
