Megan Fox is the face of the impotence-drug campaign: Life is short and should be fun
American actress Megan Fox appeared in the new advertising campaign of the company “Ro” for its erectile dysfunction drug, in which she presented herself as the personification of “Ro Sparks” — the medicine in human form. “Hello, I’m not Viagra. I’m Ro Sparks, a prescription drug for men,” Fox says at the start of the advert, in which she appears in a very tight red outfit, according to People magazine. The campaign will be shown on television, streaming platforms and paid content on social networks, as well as on billboards, including in Times Square in New York.
In an interview, Fox said the role was ideal for her. “Personally, I think I was perhaps born for this. There is no better person who could have been involved,” the actress said. Fox said she initially expected the company to follow a different approach to the advertising campaign, but that in the end her team had to ask for some jokes and innuendos to be toned down. “I thought we would have to come back with lots of suggestions and say: ‘This needs to be much funnier, sexier and livelier.’ In fact we had to say: ‘Maybe we should tone it down a bit’,” she said.
The actress said she wanted the advert to be fun in order to reduce the sense of shame that men may have about erectile dysfunction. “Life is short and it should be fun. You should be able to laugh and enjoy yourself,” Fox said, telling men who have the aforementioned problems that they should not feel that “something is wrong” with them. Megan Fox is known for her roles in films and series such as “Transformers”, “Ninja Turtles” and “Jennifer’s Body”, while she has recently appeared in the films “Five Nights at Freddy’s 2”, “Subjugation” and “Mercenaries 4”.
According to the company “Ro”, the preparation is a therapy for erectile dysfunction that combines sildenafil and tadalafil, active ingredients also used in drugs such as Viagra and Cialis. The company Ro, which offers telemedicine services, said its research showed that men react more positively to messages on this topic when they come from a woman. Ro has previously hired celebrities to promote its other products, including Serena Williams, Charles Barkley, Tricia Paytas and Chrissy Metz.
