Minkah Fitzpatrick exits with groin injury; other significant Week 1 injuries

Several significant injuries were recorded during Week 1 games, disrupting roster plans and potentially affecting the season’s development for the teams involved.

As reported by NFL, the Atlanta Falcons lost defensive lineman Da’Shawn Hand (knee), declared out already in the first half against the Steelers; the Baltimore Ravens lost cornerback T.J. Tampa (knee), also declared out in the first half against the Colts; the Cleveland Browns were left without running back Dylan Sampson (ankle), declared out already in the first half against the Jaguars. The Detroit Lions lost guard Christian Mahogany (knee), who left the game and remains questionable for return; the Jacksonville Jaguars lost wide receiver Brian Thomas Jr. (shoulder) and defensive end B.J. Green II (elbow), who left against the Browns and are questionable for return. The New York Jets saw safety Minkah Fitzpatrick (groin), wide receiver Omar Cooper Jr. (ankle) and defensive back Jarvis Brownlee Jr. (calf) all leave the game against the Titans and remain questionable for return; at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, cornerback Jacob Parrish (back) left against the Bengals and is questionable for return.

Minkah Fitzpatrick left the meeting due to the groin injury and the team’s medical management will determine whether he will miss upcoming games. Many of the players who left during the meetings will undergo further examinations to determine the intensity of the injury and recovery time.

According to NFL, some names were declared immediately out, while others remain questionable for return; teams must wait for the results of medical tests to determine further plans for their rosters.
