PDK conditions Assembly participation, Deliu-Kodra: Without the law on the Special Chambers we will not continue
Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP Blerta Deliu-Kodra has made known her party’s firm stance regarding the continuation of work in the Assembly of Kosovo. On the DPT te Fidani show on Klan Kosova, she declared that the PDK parliamentary group will not accept any other issue being treated in the session without the law on the Specialized Chambers being brought and discussed.
“None of our MPs will be in the Assembly without discussing the law that we have requested. It is an initiative that responds to the need that Kosovo has today. We are talking about a law, we have spoken, Mr. Hamza has spoken, about financing, about support for the KLA leaders in the judicial process,” Deliu-Kodra said.
She added that the PDK had expected from the Government a more serious and concrete approach to this issue. “We expected that at least the Government, in cases like this, would not prove its political will only with a statement, but when the foundations of the state are violated, a normal government should behave not only with seriousness, but prove its full support. Kosovo’s main priority today is the decision that has attacked the state of Kosovo,” she declared.
The opposition MP also addressed criticism toward the Government and the minister of Foreign Affairs and Diaspora, Donika Gërvalla, claiming that the prolonged procedures and the justifications about obtaining opinions from experts are being used to pass the October 6 deadline. Deliu-Kodra also reacted to statements according to which the issue of the law is being treated as an ordinary topic of the day, insisting that for the PDK this is an issue of special political and institutional importance.
