Peci after the protest: Stop the attacks on Donika Gërvalla

The leader of the Guxo party, Faton Peci, reacted after today’s protest by the KLA War Veterans Organization in Pristina, saying that the KLA has been and remains, in his words, “of the entire Albanian nation.”

Through a Facebook post, Peci said the protest is a right guaranteed in democracy and that the Guxo party respects it.

“The KLA has been and remains of the entire Albanian nation, it has been and remains a symbol and value of this people and so it will remain forever,” Peci wrote.

He said Guxo opposes what he described as the attempt to stigmatize, demonize and lynch Donika Jusuf Gërvalla through such manifestations.

“Protest is a sign of civilization and a right guaranteed in democracy. As such, we respect it. However, any attempt to stigmatize, demonize and lynch Donika Jusuf Gërvalla through such manifestations will face our fiercest opposition,” he declared.

Peci also mentioned the contribution of the Gërvalla family to Kosovo’s history, linking it to the struggle for freedom and to the KLA.

“In our long history of sacrifice for freedom, her family and Donika Gërvalla herself represent an important and bright chapter (one of the KLA’s Brigades was named ‘Jusuf Gërvalla’) and are a guide and manual on how to live and die for the homeland.”

“We do not forget this and we will NOT dare to forget this!” Peci wrote.

In the end, he called for what he described as an end to the attacks on Donika Gërvalla.
