Prisoners in Smrekonica harvest the apples and dig up the potatoes

As part of the activities of the Economic Unit of the Kosovo Correctional Service, the apple harvest and the digging of potatoes from the agricultural land of the Correctional Centre in Smrekonica have begun, as Telegrafi reports. The announcement says that all the work was carried out by the prisoners of the Smrekonica Correctional Centre, under the supervision and support of the responsible officials.

“The engagement of prisoners in agricultural work is part of the work and vocational training activities, enabling them to gain practical skills, develop responsibility and contribute to the activities of the Economic Unit of the Kosovo Correctional Service. Work in agriculture and other productive activities contribute to the constructive engagement of prisoners and to their preparation for reintegration after completing their sentences,” the announcement says.
