Puka Nacua Doubtful for Rams’ Sunday Night Game Against Broncos
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua is listed as doubtful for Sunday night’s game against the Denver Broncos after missing practice all week with a physical issue. Coach Sean McVay described the concern as a groin problem, and the medical staff continues to evaluate him.
As NFL reports, Nacua received the “doubtful” tag for the Week 3 game after missing practices and is expected to miss his second straight game. McVay said it does not appear to be a long-term problem and, barring a setback, they expect him to be available for the Week 4 game against the Eagles.
In the Australia opener against the San Francisco 49ers, Nacua was Los Angeles’ leading receiver with five catches for 74 yards. Without him against the New York Giants, Davante Adams had a big outing with 195 yards and two touchdowns. If Nacua misses again, bigger contributions will be needed from Xavier Smith, Konata Mumpfield and Tutu Atwell, plus more use of tight ends such as Colby Parkinson and Tyler Higbee.
Los Angeles is 3-4 in extended stretches when Nacua does not play, and McVay is expected to give the final confirmation after pregame warmups ahead of the game kicking off at 8:20 p.m. ET. According to NFL, the decision on Nacua’s participation will depend on late developments on game day.
