Rozafa Castle drew more than 28,000 tourists in September
Rozafa Castle remains one of the main tourist attractions in Shkodra, recording another increase in visitor numbers during the month of September.
According to figures published by the Shkoder Regional Directorate of Cultural Heritage, 28,731 visitors chose to visit the castle during September, a figure representing a 10% increase compared with the same month a year earlier.
Positioned on the rocky hill at the entrance to Shkodra, Rozafa Castle is one of the best-known monuments of Albanian cultural heritage. From its position, visitors can see the city of Shkodra, the lake, the Buna River and parts of the Albanian Alps.
The increase in visitors in September comes at a time when Shkodra continues to consolidate its position as an important tourist destination, combining cultural heritage with nature, gastronomy and tourist activities in the city and the surrounding areas.
The castle is also part of the tourist offer linking Shkodra’s historic centre with other attractions in the region, including Lake Shkodra, the Buna River, museums and religious monuments.
