Russian guided-bomb strike hits a school in Sumy: two killed and three children wounded

The two victims were killed in their homes in a low-density residential area, Sumy regional governor Oleh Hryhorov reported on social media, as the Kyiv Independent reports. The school’s pupils were in the building’s shelter at the moment of the attack, the governor added.

President Volodymyr Zelensky reacted sharply on social media, condemning the strike on children, schools and ordinary homes and calling on partners to act, amid Kyiv’s continuing demand for more air defence.

The Sumy region, which borders Russia directly, has been under intensified Russian attacks in recent months.
