Saudi-led coalition: Houthi ballistic missile bound for Khamis Mushait intercepted and destroyed

The Saudi-led coalition in Yemen said its air defense intercepted and destroyed a ballistic missile launched by the Houthis toward the city of Khamis Mushait in southern Saudi Arabia, according to an announcement by the coalition’s official spokesman on the X platform, cited by Al Jazeera.

Khamis Mushait, home to an important Saudi air base, has been a repeated target of Houthi attacks during the seven-month war.

The Iran-backed Houthis have intensified missile and drone attacks on Saudi targets, in counterpoint to the Saudi coalition’s air campaign against their positions in Yemen — including the recent airstrikes in Taiz province.
