Sejdiu’s Withdrawal, Rrustem Mustafa’s Meeting With Kurti and a PDK Name for President – MP Përparim Gruda Speaks
Democratic Party of Kosovo (PDK) MP Përparim Gruda spoke today about the issue of electing Kosovo’s president and about the meetings between PDK MP Rrustem Mustafa and caretaker Prime Minister Albin Kurti.
Gruda also addressed the withdrawal of the presidential candidacy by candidate Bekim Sejdiu.
“That candidacy did not emerge as a negotiation process where PDK was a party, so I don’t have much to say except that we were convinced from the start that Kurti did not intend to elect Sejdiu as president but only to create new political momentum for the next political game,” he said.
Gruda further spoke about the meeting between PDK MP Rrustem Mustafa and Kurti.
“Mr. Mustafa has a personal position that you know. PDK has no more dialogue with Vetëvendosje. PDK’s positions are known, they are clear, they have been stated by the PDK chairman and the party leadership.”
Gruda was also asked whether PDK would propose a name for president if LVV calls for such a thing.
“That process is closed… it is known that it is closed,” he said.
Gruda further emphasized that they have not reached an agreement with LVV.
“We went into dialogue about the president both before the June elections and after the elections and we did not reach an agreement… Kurti wanted all the powers, and we cannot leave all the powers to one man, so there is no reason to continue a dialogue that is designed to fail,” he said.
