Student Center opens competition for dormitories and canteen

The Student Center in Pristina has announced the competition for the admission of students to dormitories and for the use of the student canteen for the 2026/2027 academic year.

According to the announcement, applications will be made online, while the competition will be open until September 18, 2026, at 4:00 PM.

“For the admission of students to dormitories and meals in the student canteen for the Academic Year 2026/2027,” the Student Center’s announcement states.

Regular students in undergraduate studies whose residence is 25 kilometers or more from Pristina are eligible to apply.

The Student Center has also set special criteria for the admission of students.

Students of the Faculty of Medicine, the Technical Faculty and the Faculty of Mathematical-Natural Sciences, who have an average grade of 9.00 and a residence 25 kilometers or more from Pristina, are admitted to dormitories regardless of the total number of points.

Meanwhile, students of other faculties with an average grade of 9.5 and residence 25 kilometers or more from Pristina are also admitted regardless of the number of points earned.

For other students, points are calculated based on the established criteria. The average grade is assessed at 5 to 15 points, while the distance of residence from Pristina at 1 to 10 points, writes Telegrafi.

Students living outside the territory of the Republic of Kosovo receive 15 points for distance.

The competition also provides additional points for students belonging to special categories.

According to the competition:

The Student Center has announced that students who earn additional points must upload the relevant documentation to the online system.

For some categories, the system will automatically calculate points, including those related to the average grade, distance of residence, war-disabled parent status and social assistance.

“The points earned from the average grade, from distance, children of war-disabled parents, students with social assistance are calculated by the online system itself. Therefore, it is not necessary to upload these documents during application,” the Student Center explains.

For students from non-majority communities, according to the competition, the list from the University of Pristina system will apply.

The competition results will be published on September 25, 2026, on the dormitory notice boards and on the Student Center’s official pages.

Students who disagree with the results will have the opportunity to file an online appeal on September 28 and 29, while appeal results will be published on October 1, 2026.

The Student Center has also warned that students who have violated the regulations in force at the Student Center will not be admitted to dormitories.

“Students with the highest number of earned points will be admitted to dormitories,” the competition states.

Applications are made through the Student Center’s online system, while the application guide has been published on the official website and on the institution’s official Facebook profile.
