Tahiri Calls for Political Unity: Let Us Oppose This Historic Injustice

Democratic Party of Kosovo MP Arian Tahiri has called for unity across Kosovo’s political spectrum, following the latest developments regarding the former Kosovo Liberation Army leaders being tried in The Hague.

Speaking to Telegrafi, Tahiri said citizens are not accepting the injustice done to the former KLA leaders at the Specialist Court.

“The Albanian nation is not accepting this injustice that has been done. There is a revolt and a unanimous demand that this injustice be opposed,” Tahiri declared.

He said the PDK has called for and taken the initiative to have political parties stand united on this issue.

According to Tahiri, unity must also extend to the institutions of the Republic of Kosovo, including the Assembly and the Government, so that, as he put it, the war of the Kosovo Liberation Army and the state of Kosovo are defended.

“We expect unity, we expect unification, and that every political force represented in the Assembly of Kosovo, jointly, opposes this historic injustice and makes the other legal and democratic changes, based on the rules and the Constitution,” he said.

Tahiri said he is optimistic that there will be political unity, calling for institutional organization and coordination.

“We are inviting unity. I believe there will be unity. I believe in good energy and in the national reason for all of us to stand together, united,” Tahiri said.

He added that the concrete steps and the positions of each political force will become clear in the coming days. /Telegrafi/
