Trump Chief of Staff Susie Wiles Says She Is Fully Cured of Cancer
White House chief of staff Susie Wiles announced on Wednesday that she is fully cured of cancer, months after being diagnosed with early-stage breast cancer in March.
She shared the news in a short statement published on September 16 on X, writing: “After a medical visit to Mayo Clinic this week, the pathology results came back clear. I am cured of cancer.”
Wiles, 69, thanked her family, friends and doctors, as well as “all those who prayed for me, cared and supported me.” She expressed special thanks to President Donald Trump for his “unwavering support,” adding that she will continue working to advance the “America First” agenda.
She is Trump’s closest aide during his second term. She has worked on his campaigns since 2015, co-chaired the 2024 campaign and was then promoted to chief of staff — the first woman in history to hold the post.
Before joining Trump’s team, Wiles worked as a scheduler on Ronald Reagan’s 1980 campaign, served under James Baker and Vice President Dan Quayle, and led Ron DeSantis’s 2018 campaign for governor of Florida.
When she was diagnosed in March, Wiles cited American Cancer Society statistics, according to which “nearly one in eight women in the U.S.” will face a similar diagnosis. Despite the treatment, she continued to perform her duties as chief of staff.
