Trump: I will meet Xi Jinping in November in China and in December at the G20 in Florida

WASHINGTON — U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Friday that he will meet again with Chinese President Xi Jinping in November and December, closing the Chinese leader’s three-day state visit to Washington.

The November meeting will take place in China, in Shenzhen, on the sidelines of the APEC summit, where Xi has invited Trump and his wife, Melania. In December, the two leaders will meet in Florida, at the G20 summit to be held at Trump National Doral in Miami.

Trump said Xi’s visit was a success and that “a lot was accomplished” during the meetings. “Big things will happen,” he later wrote on Truth Social, calling the meeting “very productive.”

On Friday morning, Xi was received for tea at the White House by Trump and Melania. The two leaders then visited the National Archives, where they saw historic documents such as the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution. There, Xi said he expects to meet Trump two more times this year, Reuters reports.
