28 years since the Abria e Epërme massacre

On 26 September 1998, in Abri e Epërme, Serbian forces carried out one of the most terrible massacres during the war in Kosovo.

On this day 23 members of the Deliu family were massacred, among them women, children and the elderly, from six months to 94 years old.

From September 25, the Deliu family had sheltered in the mountains, to escape Serbian attacks.

A day later, on September 26, around 10:00 in the morning, Serbian infantry had penetrated there. On this occasion gunshots and human screams were heard.

After the attack it was discovered that all the victims — children, elderly, women and youth — had been shot in the head at close range. The bodies of the executed showed clear evidence of a slaughterhouse, as KosovaPress reports.
