Trump: The U.S. is considering a military base in Poland

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that the United States is considering the possibility of establishing a military base in Poland. Asked by reporters whether Washington is considering placing an American base in the NATO member country, Trump said the possibility is under discussion and could be realised. “We have great respect for the president of Poland, Karol Nawrocki, so we are looking at this possibility — and it could happen,” Trump said.

The American president had also stated last month that the U.S. and Poland were making “great progress” towards establishing an American military base in Poland. In a post on the Truth Social platform, Trump had said that, if the agreement is realised, the location of the base would be announced soon, describing it as an important step for the U.S.–Poland alliance.
