Turkey launches national AI platform EVREN to strengthen defense industry

Turkey has launched its national artificial intelligence (AI) platform, EVREN, with the aim of strengthening the country’s defense industry.

According to a Sunday statement from the Presidency of Defense Industries, EVREN serves a wide range of users — from defense industry firms and technology companies to academics, entrepreneurs and students — bringing together on a single platform data, AI models and high-performance computing power, as Telegrafi reports.

As further emphasized, prompt, response and usage data on the platform are processed on high-performance GPU infrastructure located in Turkey, thus preventing the transfer of sensitive data to cloud services outside the country.

Media note that EVREN has reached 7,500 active users in a short period and aims to contribute to the development of Turkey’s AI ecosystem, as well as to efforts under the Artificial Intelligence Action Plan.

The platform will be further developed with domestically developed large language, image and audio models, while its computing infrastructure will be strengthened through a distributed approach to GPU management.
