WASHINGTON — Sixth batch of UFO files released, U.S. publishes 71 materials
– The U.S. Department of War has released the sixth batch of declassified UFO materials, officially termed unidentified aerial phenomena (UAP), according to The Times.
The new release contains 71 materials, including 55 documents, 15 videos and one audio recording.
The materials span 1952–2025 and include cases reported by the U.S. military as well as local authorities in Colorado.
U.S. authorities use the term UAP for objects or phenomena observed in the air for which, at the time of reporting, there is insufficient data to determine what they are.
That does not mean they are of extraterrestrial origin.
A significant portion of the new materials relates to a U.S. military intelligence program created in 2008 that studied advanced technologies and ideas for the future of aviation and space.
The documents include studies on topics such as engines that could enable very fast space travel, wormholes, technologies to make an object less detectable and new ways of moving aircraft.
These documents present research topics and studied ideas, not evidence that these technologies have been realized or used in extraterrestrial craft.
The new batch also includes historical materials from “Project Blue Book”, a U.S. Air Force program that investigated UFO reports during the last century.
One case relates to footage recorded in 1952 near Tremonton, Utah.
The files also include more recent reports from the Middle East, where U.S. military personnel reported objects observed by military sensors and cameras.
Among the published materials is also a report on an unidentified object observed over the Yellow Sea in 2023 and a report from a police officer in Colorado.
U.S. authorities emphasize that these materials relate to cases that have not been definitively resolved, and it has not been determined with certainty what the reported objects or phenomena were.
The release is part of a U.S. administration process to gradually publish government documents on UAPs.
The material packages are being published in several phases as documents are reviewed and declassified.
