“We gave our limbs, we demand dignity”: former KLA soldier sends a message to the institutions
A former KLA soldier has sent a direct message to Kosovo’s institutions after the end of the 14th night of protests in Skanderbeg Square in Pristina, against the verdict on the former KLA leaders in The Hague. As Klan Kosova reports, journalist Vesa Hoda interviewed Ylber Selmani, a war invalid from Ferizaj, who said that the veterans “gave their limbs” for freedom and now demand dignity.
Together with a group of veterans, Selmani expressed that their demand is clear: “Freedom for the liberators”.
He criticized the institutions for, as he said, a lack of action and political unity. “What is being done for the liberators is too little. Not enough is being done. Absolutely not. I don’t know why this division among politicians, I don’t know why they don’t have the unity they should have”, Selmani said.
Speaking about the October 1 protest, Selmani warned of a greater mobilization. “It’s not that there should be no calm, because we are for our institutions, we gave our limbs, it is a severed leg, we gave sacrifice, but we are demanding dignity, not to be left aside”, he said.
