Witness from the Iber-Lepenc explosion: “The house moved, I thought it was an earthquake”

Witness Milena Pashpereviq, who is also an injured party, testified at today’s hearing in Varagë, Zubin Potok, about the damage to her home from the explosion of 29 November 2024 in the Iber-Lepenc canal, as Klan Kosova reports.

According to Klan Kosova, Pashpereviq recounted that at the moment of the explosion she was alone at home and, from the powerful shock, had thought it was an earthquake. She said her house sits below the main road, while the incident happened above the main road. As a result of the explosion, the foundation of the house had shifted and the stove pipe had come out of place.

The witness said she was worried and frightened, as she had no neighbours nearby, and in panic had called her parents’ mother by phone for help. The mayor of Zubin Potok, Izmir Zeqiri, had helped her with 1,300 euros, but according to her this amount had not compensated for the damage caused.

At the end of her testimony, asked by the prosecution whether she seeks compensation from the accused, she answered briefly: “No”.

The explosion in the Iber-Lepenc canal is part of the Special Prosecution’s indictment against Jovan Viqentijeviq, Dragisha Viqentijeviq and Igor Dimoviq for endangering the constitutional order through the destruction of or damage to public installations, committing a terrorist act, unauthorised possession of weapons and espionage. According to the indictment, on 29 November 2024 in Varagë, Zubin Potok, the Viqentijeviq brothers, in collaboration with still-unidentified persons, placed around 20 kilograms of TNT explosive inside the canal and activated it via a bag tied with a rope to a concrete pole. The explosion severely damaged the canal’s structure, interrupted the drinking water supply and endangered electricity production. The damage to the Iber-Lepenc enterprise was assessed at 376,774.70 euros. Jovan Viqentijeviq is also charged with espionage, as according to the prosecution he acted as a recruit of Serbia’s Military Intelligence Service, in the capacity of colonel, while Igor Dimoviq is accused of unauthorised possession of weapons.
