Zachary Bolduc signs four-year, $16.8 million deal with Montreal Canadiens

On September 13, 2026, forward Zachary Bolduc signed a four-year contract with the Montreal Canadiens worth $16.8 million, with an annual average of $4.2 million. The 23-year-old became a restricted free agent on July 1, following a season in which he recorded 30 points (12 goals, 18 assists) in 78 regular-season games and added 7 points (3 goals, 4 assists) in 19 playoff games.

According to the NHL, Bolduc was drafted by the St. Louis Blues in the first round of the 2021 draft, 17th overall. In his regular-season career he has amassed 75 points (36 goals, 39 assists) in 175 games with the Blues and Canadiens, while in the playoffs he has 8 points (3 goals, 5 assists) in 26 games. He was traded to Montreal in a deal with St. Louis for Logan Mailloux on July 1, 2025.

The club also signed forward Chris Kreider to a one-year contract on Saturday, two days after his deal with the Anaheim Ducks ended. Montreal will open training camp later this week, after last season’s run to the Eastern Conference Final, where they were defeated by the Carolina Hurricanes in five games.

According to the NHL, the Canadiens will open the 2026-27 season with the opening game against the Toronto Maple Leafs on September 29 (7:00 p.m. ET; TVAS, SN).
